## Summary

The Cambridgeshire County Council, represented by LGSS, is seeking suppliers for "Archaeological Fieldworks Services" through a tender process aimed at appointing 3 to 5 providers under a framework agreement. This initiative replaces a previous framework that lapsed in 2018 and is crucial for ensuring compliance with obligations concerning archaeological investigations associated with development projects. The procurement method is open, with the tender period concluding on 24 June 2019. The contract, valued between £4 million and £6 million, is set to commence on 25 August 2019 and run until 24 August 2022, with delivery required in the East of England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the archaeological and heritage sectors, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Companies that specialise in archaeological services will be ideally suited to compete, as the framework aims to facilitate the selection of the most competent and cost-effective suppliers. The collaborative nature of the framework allows for participation from various local authorities and educational institutions, broadening the potential client base for successful bidders.
