This scheme has been designed to stabilise the worst affected sections of the road and to repair the damage caused to the carriageway. This will be achieved by installation of an approximate 400 metre length of sheet piles in the verge adjacent to the southbound lane of the carriageway and by full-depth carriageway reconstruction together with replacement of defective drainage. The works will include provision of a new southbound cycle lane as well as associated works to enable diversion of existing services located within the highway verge in order to accommodate the piling works.
