## Summary

The Department of Health and Social Care is seeking a software provider for high-capacity diagnostic testing solutions in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage, with the deadline for submissions set for 15 January 2021. This opportunity is classified under IT software development services and is valued at £6,000,000, with a minimum bid requirement of £5,000,000. The contract is expected to commence on 5 March 2021 and continue until 4 March 2022, with deliverables expected to be provided in London, United Kingdom.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in innovative healthcare technologies, particularly those offering software development capabilities focused on diagnostic solutions. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs) that can provide effective computational decision support and automation software would be well-suited to compete for this contract, which aims to enhance national health surveillance and improve testing delivery capabilities amidst ongoing health challenges.

## Notice

The Department of Health is supporting the development of innovative healthcare and diagnostic solutions in response to the Covid-19 virus pandemic. Through technology assessments and agency review, ePCR has been identified as a novel diagnostic capability to enhance diagnostic testing of Covid-19. ePCR testing may be employed across community testing and surveillance channels and can also serve healthcare providers and individuals. eCPR shows potential to: expand total national test capacity; accelerate test result turnaround; and improve overall test service and delivery. The requirements for the ePCR software include direct diagnostic result determination (via computational decision support), instrument automation and information handling, and diagnostic reporting and database solutions. The Software Provider will enable the Department to support and grow effective high-capacity diagnostic testing of Covid-19, and also assist in expanding the national capacity for epidemiologic surveillance and diagnostic management for other established and novel human health risks.
