## Summary

The University of Plymouth is engaged in a public procurement process for the New Engineering and Design Facility, seeking a multidisciplinary design service provider. The procurement falls under the architectural, construction, engineering, and inspection services category with a value of £1,400,000. The tender was published on 20 June 2019, and the tender period ended on 30 July 2019. The successful contractor, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, was awarded the contract on 11 November 2019 under a NEC Professional Services Contract, and the contract duration extends until 1 September 2022. The procurement was conducted through a selective method, specifically via a competitive dialogue process, which is suited for complex projects requiring innovative solutions.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in architecture, engineering, and construction services, particularly those equipped to handle large-scale design projects. Firms with experience in multidisciplinary teams and a proven track record in architectural design competition submissions will find a competitive advantage in pursuing similar contracts. The University of Plymouth aims not only to meet its physical requirements but also to align the project with its broader strategic goals, making this an appealing venture for companies seeking to expand their portfolios in higher education infrastructure development.

## Notice

The University of Plymouth is seeking to appoint a single organisation to provide multidisciplinary design service for the New Engineering and Design Facility (NEDF) through commissioning a RIBA design competition via the competitive dialogue process to obtain the best possible designs for the building that will meet the physical requirements stipulated in the design brief, but also one that reflects the wider aims of the University. The preferred provider will be appointed on a NEC Professional Services Contract, and will be responsible for the completion of the design and associated specifications for the NEDF and preparing for and obtaining all associated internal and external approvals, including town planning applications, from design competition submission (broadly a RIBA stage 2 level of output) through to a RIBA stage 7. The brief has been developed to RIBA stage 1. For full access to the documents please register your interest in the project on our e-tendering portal: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/plymouthuni
