## Summary

The procurement process for the "Anticoagulation Service (Non-Complex Pathway)" is being conducted by the North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) on behalf of the NHS County Durham and Sunderland Clinical Commissioning Groups. This joint procurement falls under the health and social work services category and is located in the North East of England. The procurement is currently at the Award stage, with a contract value of £4,400,000 and an active award date of 28 June 2022. The contract commenced on 1 October 2022 and spans an initial period of two years, with potential extension options based on performance. Bidders were required to submit their tenders by 12 noon on 11 April 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth for businesses specialising in health service provision, particularly those with expertise in anticoagulation services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, social enterprise (VCSE) organisations would be well-suited to compete, especially given the existing service provision's transfer of undertakings regulations, which may allow for new entrants to leverage existing contracts. Interest in this procurement could drive innovation and improved service delivery within the healthcare sector across County Durham and Sunderland.
