## Summary

The University of Manchester is inviting bids for the procurement of an R&D Inkjet Printer for Printed Electronics, a key component for its Graphene Engineering and Innovation Centre (GEIC). This tender falls under the goods category, with a specific focus on inkjet printers within the research and innovation sector. The procurement process, which follows an open tender method, is currently in the planning stage, with a deadline for submissions set for 19 February 2018. The contract period is expected to commence on 23 February 2018 and run until 30 June 2018. The GEIC will be located on the North Campus of the University, with a postal code of M13 9PL in the North West of England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in advanced manufacturing, especially those experienced in producing printing technologies or materials related to electronics and nanotechnology. Companies that can offer innovative solutions or equipment for industrial applications in graphene research are particularly well-suited to compete. The funding for this project is partly sourced from the European Regional Development Fund, underscoring the importance and potential impact of the projects undertaken at the GEIC.

## Notice

Background information on Project This tender is being run on behalf of the Graphene Engineering and Innovation Centre (GEIC) at The University of Manchester. The GEIC is a PS60 million investment which will establish a state of the art research and technology development facility for graphene and related 2D materials. Projects in the GEIC will be industry-led and will focus on innovation and applications, with the aim of accelerating research through to products in the marketplace. The GEIC will house pilot production facilities and characterisation equipment. It will initially focus on a number of the University's world-class graphene application areas: energy, composites, formulations and coatings, electronics and membranes. Given the world leading graphene research at the University, it is expected that all the equipment in the GEIC will be cited in high profile academic publications as well as underpinning industrial collaboration projects, thus giving the equipment a high degree of exposure. The GEIC will be situated on the North Campus of The University of Manchester, comprise of circa 8400 m2 and has been designed by world-renowned architect Rafael Vinoly. It is set to be open in Summer 2018. Equipment purchased before the GEIC building is opened will be temporally commissioned elsewhere in the University campus, typically in the National Graphene Institute, and then moved into the GEIC once it is completed. For further information on the GEIC please see: http://www.graphene.manchester.ac.uk/collaborate/geic/ Project Overview We require a R&D materials inkjet printer capable of printing a wide range of inks from metal nanoparticle dispersions, polymers and carbon based nanomaterial. With the option to change print heads highly desirable including the use of industrially relevant print heads.
