## Summary

The Metropolitan Police Service is initiating a tender for a 12-month service contract for forensic laboratory equipment, including fuming cabinets and electrostatic document analysis machines, located at their Forensic HQ in Lambeth, London. This procurement falls under the services category and is governed by an open procedure, with a contract period starting from 30 April 2021 to 29 April 2022. Quotations were to be submitted by 16 March 2019, but the award was officially announced on 1 April 2021, with a minimum value of £26,000 and the total contract value set at £50,000.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in laboratory equipment maintenance and servicing. Companies that can provide timely service visits and are equipped to handle a range of forensic machinery would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Given the acute service level expectations, including a maximum response time of 36 hours for breakdown calls, businesses with robust logistics and technical support are encouraged to consider this opportunity for growth within the public procurement sector.
