## Summary

The Tower Hamlets local authority has awarded a contract for the "HAC5224 School Health and Wellbeing" service, focusing on health support for school-aged children and young people aged 5-19 in Tower Hamlets, London. This public procurement process was initiated under an open tender method and has reached the award stage, with the contract value set at £8,208,800. The services are scheduled to commence on 1 August 2018 and will run until 31 July 2023. The tender period concluded on 26 February 2018, and the contract will cater to all state-funded schools in the area, which include 70 primary schools, 19 secondary schools, and 3 special schools, serving a population of over 40,000 children and young people.

This contract presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) capable of delivering public health services. Companies with expertise in health and social care, educational support services, or community health initiatives would be well-positioned to compete for similar tenders. The service involves a comprehensive approach, incorporating community engagement, health assessments, preventive services, and support for vulnerable children, which aligns well with organisations aiming to impact public health positively.
