## Summary

Wiltshire Council, in collaboration with Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group, is conducting a procurement process for Intensive Rehabilitation Care Beds and Delirium Care Beds, aimed at supporting patients transitioning from acute hospital settings. The procurement is classified under the category of other community, social, and personal services and is valued at £2,764,666. It follows the open procurement method under the light-touch regime, with the tender period having closed on 25th September 2020. The contract is set to commence on 1st November 2020 and will run until 31st March 2023, with services to be delivered in Wiltshire, England.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses in the health and social care sectors, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that can provide rehabilitation and support services. Companies with expertise in care provision, rehabilitation strategies, and those able to cater to the needs of patients with cognitive challenges would be well-poised to compete for this contract. Engaging in this tender could enable organisations to expand their services and enhance their presence in the social care market in Wiltshire.

## Notice

Wiltshire Council, in partnership with Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group, is seeking to commission Intensive Rehabilitation (IRB) Beds and Delirium Care Beds for Wiltshire. The purpose of IRBs is to support people who meet the eligibility criteria as they are discharged from acute and community hospitals. IRBs are short term, time restricted, goal-based periods of care that are supported by health and social care, with the aim to rehabilitate people to maximise their potential to live as independently as possible. The purpose of Temporary Block Placement for People with a delirium is to provide support to those patients who no longer require care in an acute hospital setting, but who need continuation of treatment and support to enable them to return to previous levels of cognition. This procurement is being undertaken in accordance with the light-touch regime (LTR) rules (PCR 2015 74-77). The Council therefore confirms that the LTR OJEU threshold and timescales apply, as does certain flexibilities with regards to the tender selection and award that are specified within this document.
