## Summary

The procurement process for the "Hire of Temporary Buildings for St John the Baptist Primary School - Phase 2 Temporary Building" was conducted by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. This contract focuses on the modular and portable buildings industry, specifically addressing the needs for temporary classrooms to support refurbishment and remodelling tasks for special needs accommodations at the school. The procurement was carried out via a selective method, using a call-off from the Northern Procurement Alliance framework agreement for the North East England region. The tender was in the award stage as of 2nd September 2025, with an award date of 22nd August 2025. The contract period is set from 23rd February 2026 to 22nd February 2027, with a value of £220,200.

This tender represents significant business growth opportunities, especially for companies specialising in modular and portable building solutions. Large businesses with expertise in providing temporary classroom facilities are well-suited to fulfil such contracts, given the technical demands and specific requirements associated with supporting educational infrastructure projects. Participating in frameworks like that of the Northern Procurement Alliance can offer businesses ongoing opportunities to supply goods and services through direct awards.

## Notice

Temporary classrooms are required to decant children from the existing school building to enable a larger piece of work that is proposed, to undertake refurbishment and re-modelling on this school site to create a dedicated wing of accommodation for special needs children. This additional temporary classroom is required for 52 weeks to accommodate 2 no. year groups of children temporarily whilst work is undertaken on the main school. Growing and changing demands for SEND places and a requirement to fulfil Statutory duties under the Children & Families Act 2014, led to a decision in September 2024, to open a 24 place SEND unit for children with communication and interaction. This is a Direct Award from: FRAMEWORK NAME & REFERENCE No: NPA Modular Buildings MB3 Workstream 3 - Hire of Temporary Buildings - North East England FRAMEWORK OWNER: Northern Procurement Alliance
