Although a blended-learning method of delivery is suitable for all medical training routes, it will be particularly relevant for the new medical apprenticeships. The programme aims to fully exploit innovation in digital and other technologies to provide a fully blended, interactive, and engaging programme that will meet the requirements the General Medical Council (NMC) has set for pre-registration medical programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to support the creation of a significantly different offer in medical education that will support the growth of a qualitatively different expert and professional workforce suited to the demands of 21st Century care and service. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. It is our intention to hold a market engagement event on the afternoon of Tues 13th April from 14:30 - 16:30, to discuss our plans and consult with parties interested in potentially bidding to deliver a blended learning medical degree programme. The event will take the form of an online presentation and discussion organised through MS Teams and will outline our current thinking, the anticipated procurement process, general discussion, and requests for information. The process will also provide an opportunity to network with others providing education and training in this field. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence from providers who may influence and inform the development of the final tender.
