The existing Fire Escape Staircase (Serving the Council Chamber) has been deemed unsuitable during a recent FRA Assessment, requiring replacement with a suitably designed replacement. The current staircase is of a Spiral design which does not provide adequate escape widths for a Public Assembly facility or the maximum occupancy levels of the Council Chamber.
