Ongar Business Centre ('the Centre') is a 15,000 sq ft office building owned freehold by Essex County Council ('ECC', 'the Authority'). The Centre supports ECC's Organisation Strategy 2017-21, aiming to "enable Essex firms in high-growth sectors to consolidate and expand, by providing advice and increasing business space". The Centre is currently managed by a third party. In January 2020, the Centre was 94% occupied by floorspace / 92% occupied by units. The current agreement for management of the Centre is due to expire on 31 April 2021. ECC's Sustainable Growth Directorate is therefore issuing a tender to secure a new longer-term agreement with a service provider to manage the Centre on its behalf.
