## Summary

The University of Sheffield has awarded a contract as part of its open procurement process for a "Large Composites Curing Oven and Oven Feed-In Table" to be used in the COMPASS (Composites at Speed and Scale) Facility under the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), Castings Group. Located in Catcliffe, South Yorkshire, this facility will aid global composite manufacturing companies and end users. The procurement process began with a call for tenders in May 2024, and the contract was awarded to Ceramic Drying Systems Ltd on 27th August 2024. The installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing of the equipment are expected to commence by June 2025. The total project value is £865,000, with a contract duration of four years, starting from 1st September 2024 to 31st August 2027.

This tender creates significant opportunities for businesses involved in advanced manufacturing, particularly those specializing in composite materials and industrial ovens. The project requires a variety of services, including design, build, delivery, installation, commissioning, training, documentation, and maintenance. Companies with expertise in electric-powered oven systems and a strong track record in automated manufacturing processes would be well-suited to compete. SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) are highly encouraged to participate, and successful bidders will have the potential to collaborate with leading industry players, thereby enhancing their business growth and market presence.
