Works include: - Temporary and enabling works to manage water levels and site safety further to: - The repair and conservation of the northern sluice structure including: - Repairs and alterations to brick built sump, - Repairs to the concrete culvert and retaining wall, - Attenuation and erosion control measures to the outlet area, - Construction of new sluice gate control measures and access platforms. - Repair and conservation of the Furnace archaeological site including: - Attenuation of water flows, - Repair of masonry structures - Protective groundworks to adjacent banks with a vegetated retaining wall. - The repair and conservation of the southern spillway including: - Reconstruction of the stone retaining wall, - Repairs to the wing walls, barrel vault and stone weir channel. - Erosion protection measures to the inlet and outlet. - Completion of groundworks and erosion protection measures to link the channels from the north sluice and southern spillway.
