## Summary

The Board of Trustees of the Tate Gallery is seeking specialised designers to re-design the Blavatnik L2 South Gallery at Tate Modern, London. The project aims to create a flexible and sustainable exhibition space with modular, movable, and re-configurable walls. This procurement falls under the category of Architectural, Construction, Engineering and Inspection Services (CPV code: 71000000). The tender, which is currently in the active stage, uses a restricted procedure and has a budget of GBP 250,000. The tender period ends on 7th February 2025, and the contract is set to start on 1st May 2025 and conclude on 31st March 2026.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in sustainable design and innovative construction methods. Companies experienced in flexible space design will find this project ideal, especially those capable of delivering modular and re-configurable solutions. While large enterprises may excel due to the project's scale and complexity, it is also suitable for venture-capital and social enterprises (VCSE) looking to showcase their expertise in sustainable construction practices. Successful engagement in this project can lead to further opportunities within the art and cultural sector, enhancing a firm's portfolio and growth potential.

## Notice

Last financial year, a large proportion of Tate Modern's Curatorial budget was spent on alternations of the gallery spaces, mainly dismantling and re-building walls, to suit the layout requirements for each exhibition. This practise also contributes to one of the largest portions of the carbon footprint generated by exhibitions production. Tate Modern would like to turn this challenge into an opportunity, where we are taking advantage of a completely empty space to design a new gallery that could be adapted for multiple exhibition projects in a low cost and circular way. This project will commission specialised designers to design a set of modular, movable and re-configurable walls to use in Blavatnik L2 South Gallery. This would allow us to respond to project-specific spatial needs by achieving multiple layouts with flexible setworks, making substantial efficiencies in construction costs, materials, labour and waste.
