## Summary

The Ministry of Defence is preparing to initiate a competitive procurement process for the Joint Equipment Maintenance Management Application (JEMMA) project, with a planned contract value between £20 million and £100 million. The procurement is currently at the planning stage, with key milestones, including the anticipated issue of the Contract Notice and Supplier Selection set for March 2022 and an invitation to negotiate expected by August 2022. Interested parties should note that the engagement end date is on 31 March 2022, and the related documents are available on the Defence Sourcing Portal.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in software development, particularly those specialising in warehouse and inventory management systems, as well as enterprise resource planning applications. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to compete, given the openness of the procurement process to diverse suppliers. Companies with expertise in database systems and comprehensive support systems could find this an ideal opportunity to collaborate with the Ministry of Defence and potentially secure a lucrative contract.

## Notice

1. Description The Support Chain Information Support team (SCIS) within Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) continues to prepare to initiate a competitive procurement process to award a contract for a new Joint Equipment Maintenance Management Application (JEMMA). A full description is provided in the previous Prior Information Notice: https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/016988-2021 and within the Early Engagement Notice - https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/520ba995-f28e-4e14-8545-2d1a28beeb87. 2. Procurement Timescales & Contract Value. The Authority anticipates issue of Contract Notice and to start Supplier Selection in March 2022 with the issue of an invitation to negotiate in August 2022. The current estimated value range of the Contract is between PS20M-PS100m. 3. Update. On 29 September 2021 the Ministry of Defence (MOD) held an Industry Day to present information on the forthcoming JEMMA competition. Further to the Industry Day, the MOD held a series of one to one engagements with Industry partners to discuss the capabilities available in the market. We thank everybody who provided us with feedback at these events. In accordance with the feedback, the MOD is reviewing the requirement for JEMMA, and the potential to expand this to deliver a more transformational and enduring solution which can become a key component of the MOD's ETLS (Engineering Through Life Support) system, and therefore better meets the needs of the military users and delivers improved value for money for Defence. As a consequence, the Contract Notice due to be published in January 2022 has been delayed subject to completion of this review of the JEMMA requirement and procurement strategy. We currently anticipate that the Contract Notice and associated PQQ will be published no later than 31 March 2022 on the Defence Sourcing Portal (DSP). Further notifications will be issued via www.contracts.mod.uk and the JEMMA Opportunities Notice - https://contracts.mod.uk/esop/guest/go/opportunity/detail?opportunityId=51826 Thank you for your interest and continued patience with regards to this opportunity. If you have any questions please direct them to DesScis-jemma-comrcl@mod.gov.uk. Additional information: You must not take this announcement to mean confirmation that MOD shall award a contract for this requirement. The MOD is publishing this announcement without any commitment to issue a tender or place a contract. Accordingly, any expenditure, work or effort undertaken before contract award is a matter solely for the commercial judgement of potential suppliers.
