## Summary

The Heart of England Community Foundation has initiated the "Building Better Lives" programme, funded by an anonymous £4 million donation. This limited tender, currently in the planning stage, invites proposals for up to three significant projects aimed at providing accommodation solutions for vulnerable adults and young people in the West Midlands, specifically within Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry, Solihull, or Warwickshire. The submission period is open until midday on Tuesday, 31st July 2018, with funding available ranging from £500,000 to £1.35 million. The tender is classified under the construction work category and has a contract period set to commence on 1st January 2019 and last until 1st January 2021.

This procurement presents a unique opportunity for businesses involved in construction and housing solutions, particularly those experienced in developing projects that cater to vulnerable demographics. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) would be well-matched to compete, given the programme's focus on enhancing service capacities for disadvantaged groups. Successful bidders will not only contribute to vital community development but can also expand their operational footprint and revenue as they engage with a significant public funding mechanism.

## Notice

Heart of England Community Foundation has launched its Building Better Lives programme after receiving an anonymous donation of PS4 million in December last year. The programme will support a maximum of three major initiatives providing accommodation solutions for vulnerable adults or young people. Applicants are invited to submit proposals for projects which will upgrade, extend or develop existing accommodation to provide additional capacity. The approach has been taken in a move to help organisations expand and develop their services to support a range of client groups experiencing disadvantage. Stage one of the two-stage application process is now open, with organisations invited to make their submissions until midday on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Organisations can bid for a minimum of PS500,000 and a maximum of PS1.35 million, and applicants must operate within Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry, Solihull or Warwickshire and have an annual turnover of less than PS15 million. Heart of England Community Foundation, a specialist grant-making charity launched in 1995, awards funding to projects across the West Midlands and has distributed more than PS15 million locally, benefitting more than one million people.
