## Summary

Birmingham City University is currently in the planning stage of the "BCU Network Infrastructure Project - Early Engagement Opportunity". This initiative aims to modernise and rationalise the university's existing IT network infrastructure, including its WAN, LAN, Hybrid, WiFi, cellular, and telephony networks. Interested suppliers are invited to engage in discussions about their capabilities prior to the release of formal tender documentation, which is expected in early 2020. The engagement period will conclude on 11 October 2019, with the project primarily located in the West Midlands, England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses that specialise in network infrastructure solutions, including those experienced in IT integration, security, and data management. Companies that are adept in providing modern and scalable network systems, and those focused on enhancing connectivity and resilience within educational institutions, will find this procurement particularly relevant. Engaging early in this process can enable suppliers to influence the project's specifications and align their offerings to meet the university's needs effectively.

## Notice

Birmingham City University is looking to modernise and rationalise where appropriate its current IT network Infrastructure, which will include the WAN, LAN, Hybrid, WiFi, cellular and telephony networks. The University seeks a supplier and/or integrator who can help us to deliver a modern fit for purpose well connected and software driven integrated network infrastructure, whilst ensuring security, agility and reliability/resilience of the platform. The modernisation and rationalisation programme would be delivered over five years as a programme of works with a significant proportion of works happening within the first 18 months of the project. This early engagement notice invites suppliers to discuss the requirements and their ability to meet them. The engagement will be used to help develop the initial specification. Please note, at this stage there will not be any documentation. This is an Early Engagement Notice to understand the market and the capacity within that to start early engagement with suppliers. The tender opportunity and relevant documentation will not be released until early 2020. Update: Birmingham City University are aiming to launch a request for information within the next two weeks. Additional information: This is an early engagement notice to engage with the market. Tender documents are not available at this stage of the process.
