The candidate should be a strategic thinker and CIPFA qualified accountant. Reporting to a Finance Business Partner the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of both teams ensuring the effective delivery of: o The provision of financial information, advice and guidance; o The annual budget setting and business planning processes; o The production of the annual Statement of Accounts and statutory returns. o Experience of working in the public sector o Managing all elements of the month end process, including journal processing, balance sheet reconciliation, eliminating key variances, delivering compliant accounts and presenting financial results to Executive panels o Working on fully costed financial options, appraisal and models. o Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building and a successful track history of delivering results quickly, building strong relationships, whilst building a legacy of improvements Applicants will need to be a member of a chartered accounting body and be able to demonstrate experience in managing staff and experience of operating with senior officers, stakeholders and partnership groups.
