## Summary

The Forestry Commission is initiating the procurement process for a 'Fleet Management System' aimed at supporting the management of its assets across England, Scotland, and Wales. This tender, currently in the planning stage, seeks to gather feedback on the emerging requirements for an asset management system that will monitor various FC assets, such as vehicles and equipment. Interested parties should note that the engagement ends on 18 September 2020, and all communication must be conducted electronically due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in inventory management software and fleet management services. Companies with expertise in developing software solutions tailored to asset monitoring and management will find themselves well-suited to contribute. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate in this engagement, allowing them to potentially influence the specification before the formal tender submission process begins.

## Notice

The Forestry Commission (FC) have a future requirement for the support and hosting of an Asset, Fleet and Workshop Management System for the monitoring and management of FC assets. The System will be used to monitor and record the detail of breakdown, service and inspection history of all these assets, including but not limited to vehicles, tractors, harvesters, strimmers and chainsaws. This System is required as an integral part of the Mechanical Engineering Services management process, and will cover Forestry England, Forest Research and Forest Services. We are currently scoping our requirements to ensure that the needs of the business will be met, and that the specification of requirements accurately reflects the offerings of the market. We invite interested companies from the market to provide feedback and potential clarifications on the feasibility of our emerging plans and suggestions on how their product can add value to our operations, (e.g. licence checking and driver management). Please note: due to COVID-19 restrictions, any communication and literature relating to this call of engagement must be provided electronically. Additional information: Please note: due to COVID-19 restrictions, any communication and literature relating to this call of engagement must be provided electronically.
