It is expected that this work will include an Internal Audit risk assessment and plan, delivered internal audits, interim update reporting (including progress against the plan), tracked status of findings and ad hoc reviews, as required. Our Audit and Risk Committee is responsible for advising the Board on the effectiveness of our management and control systems for ensuring VFM, propriety, regularity, economy, efficiency, competence and accountability. The committee also has the duty of ensuring the maintenance of adequate and effective systems of internal financial control and risk management and the provision of an appropriate internal audit function. The Internal Auditor is responsible for enabling the committee to achieve these duties by conducting independent appraisals of our activities in line with current requirements and prevailing standards and best practice. The Internal Auditor is responsible for giving assurance to Cobalt on financial and other control arrangements. It also assists management by evaluating and reporting to them on the effectiveness of the controls for which they are responsible.
