## Summary

The procurement process titled "RIMNET Monitor Network - Supplier Forum" is initiated by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, located in London, England. Currently in the planning stage, this tender is focused on the nuclear safety equipment industry. A key milestone is the engagement end date set for 23rd May 2022. The contract involves the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the RIMNET nuclear radiation monitoring system, with an Invitation to Tender (ITT) expected to launch in Q2 of the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the nuclear safety and monitoring sector, particularly companies specialising in engineering services, IT solutions, and maintenance of security equipment. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, especially those interested in forming consortia to collaborate on bids. By joining the upcoming supplier forum, potential bidders will gain insights into the procurement strategy and have the chance to network with other organisations, thereby enhancing their chances of success in this competitive market.

## Notice

RIMNET is a nuclear radiation monitoring and emergency response system which was installed in 1988 to monitor the consequences for the UK of nuclear incidents abroad following lessons learned from the Chernobyl accident in 1986. The system is now utilised in the UK response to all major radiological events. The network consists of over 200 gamma dose rate monitors around around the UK, as well as key UK nuclear power plant sites. The contract will be for the operation, maintenance and eventual replacement of the current network, as well as the supply of new monitors to enhance the current technology. BEIS is planning on launching the ITT in Q2 FY 2022-2023, by beginning of July at the earliest. This notice is for a 1-2 hour virtual supplier forum to enable suppliers to attend a further market engagement session. This event is in response to some potential bidders wishing to explore forming consortia. Suppliers will receive updates on the procurement strategy and meet other organisations in the market with a view to partnering. The event will take place on the 23rd May 2022 from 2pm-4pm. In order to attend this session, please sign the attached Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement and return it to the following email address: natasha.mardinian@beis.gov.uk.
