## Summary

The Staffordshire Police is initiating a Soft Market Testing exercise for Custodial Detention Services, aimed at gathering insights from potential service providers on high-level plans and strategies. The engagement process is currently in the planning stage, with key activities including a market engagement notice published on 29th June 2018. Providers are encouraged to submit their expressions of interest by 20th July 2018, and an engagement event will take place on 2nd August 2018 in Staffordshire. The procurement focuses on custody services, with relevant classifications including services related to the detention or rehabilitation of criminals.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in custody and detention services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. Companies that can offer trained detention officers and possess experience working within the frameworks of public security and legal compliance would be well-positioned to engage with the Staffordshire Police. While this market engagement is not part of a formal tender process, it allows for valuable feedback and collaboration that could shape future procurement opportunities in the sector.
