## Summary

The procurement process for the New Art Gallery Walsall Heat Decarbonisation project, led by Walsall Council, has reached the award stage. The contract has been awarded to Seddon Construction Ltd, with a value of £801,885. The project, focused in the West Midlands, involves significant construction works including the replacement of gas boilers, roof system upgrades, and installation of renewable heating systems. It falls under the "Roof works and other special trade construction works" category. The direct award was made through the Pagabo Decarbonisation Solutions framework. Key dates include the contract start on 10th March 2025, concluding by 31st July 2025. All grant funding, a portion of the £798,000 budget, must be utilised by 31st March 2025.

This tender presents considerable business opportunities, particularly for companies skilled in building construction and specialty roof work, as well as those experienced in energy-efficient and sustainable solution implementations. The transition to renewable heating systems opens doors for businesses focusing on green technologies and energy savings, providing significant growth potential in the burgeoning field of decarbonisation. Companies able to meet substantial insurance requirements—such as employers' and public liability—and deliver within tight timelines will be well-suited to benefit from this project and others in similar categories.
