## Summary

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is seeking suppliers for a thermal cycle chamber, which is essential for testing the thermo-mechanical reliability of electronic circuits. This tender, titled "Request for Quotation - Thermal Cycle Chamber," is classified under laboratory, optical and precision equipment (excluding glasses) and falls within the goods procurement category. The procurement process, which is currently at the tender stage, operates under a limited method with competitive quotations below the threshold. The deadline for submissions is on 22nd July 2019, and the project is expected to commence on 2nd August 2019, lasting until 2nd July 2020. The tender is located at the NPL's headquarters in Teddington, England, with delivery addresses extending internationally.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in laboratory and precision equipment, particularly those capable of delivering innovative solutions for high-reliability testing environments. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the procurement process is designed to facilitate competitive quotations from a variety of vendors. Companies with expertise in thermal cycling technology, metrology for high temperature materials, and relevant manufacturing capabilities in sectors such as electrical systems, oil and gas, and aerospace would be well-suited to compete for this contract.

## Notice

The NPL requirement is a thermal cycle chamber for rapid increasing or decreasing temperature inside the chamber over a range of -70degC to 180degC with a minimum 10 degC/minute change rate. The purpose is to evaluate mechanical reliability of electronic circuits. The NPL requirement is to test thermo-mechanical reliability of electronic circuits by subjecting them to regular thermal excursions across an extended operational range. The tests we will run will be used by most electricals with high reliability and electrical system manufacturers for their type approval testing. Similar systems are used within the industry to provide fitness for purpose testing for new designs and material combinations. The innovative metrology developed by NPL for high temperature materials and manufacturing techniques, is required for electric and hybrid development, oil/gas, and aerospace partners. This is required for benchmarking against these widely accepted industry standards. Additional information: Please do not contact the person listed on this notice.
