The existing footpath / cycleway at the toe of the embankment will be re-aligned and upgraded. Whittington Road traffic signals will be upgraded. The scheme will re-align the existing islands at the A40/Whittington Road junction, linking existing shared-use facilities by creating a safe location for cyclists and pedestrians to cross the road. Landscaping works will include the replacement of trees removed to facilitate the remodelling of the embankment. Replacement trees will be semi mature species.
