Within this framework, we also want to understand the impacts of COVID-19 on the innovation potential of GM's manufacturing companies, as far as this is presently understood. The scope of the research set out herein is intended to support GM to achieve a comprehensive, detailed understanding of the high-value sub-sectors (or specialisms), and niche areas within GM's manufacturing base (going beyond SIC codes), and the associated innovation pipelines or trajectories, including any gaps.
