## Summary

The procurement process is being conducted by Scottish Water, focusing on the supply and installation of a Geosim Instrument. This project falls under the category of laboratory, optical, and precision equipment, located in Glasgow, Scotland. The current procurement stage is in the Tender phase, with key dates including the tender period that ends on 27th May 2020. The estimated contract value is between £100,000 and £500,000, and the procurement method being used is selective under a negotiated procedure.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in laboratory equipment and automated analytical systems. Businesses that can provide high-precision instruments capable of processing complex water samples would be well-suited to compete. Additionally, the ongoing requirement for servicing and maintenance agreements may enhance opportunities for ongoing partnerships with Scottish Water beyond the initial supply contract.

## Notice

Scottish Water Laboratories are looking to purchase an on-line automated liquid / liquid extraction preparation station coupled to a GCMS or GCMSMS system to analyse for Geosmin, 2-Methylisoborneol (2-MIB), Anisole, 2-Ethyl-5,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane (2-EDD), 2-Isopropyl-3-methoxypyrazine (IPMP), 2,4,6-Trichloroanisole (TCA) and 2,4,6-Tribromoanisole down to a detection limit of 1ngL-1 in potable and untreated waters. The system must be able to prepare and analyse a minimum of 48 injects per day. The supplier must also be able to provide an on-going warranty/servicing/maintenance agreement for system. Similar automated systems which can meet this requirement may also be considered. The system must be able to cope with the high level of interference present in untreated waters while still meeting the accuracy (maximum RSD of 10%) and precision targets (maximum bias of 10%) required for this analysis. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).
