## Summary

The Defra Network eTendering Portal is preparing to initiate a tender for the project titled "Effectiveness of Water Treatment Processes in the Removal of EDCs". This project falls under the research services and surface water treatment services categories, aiming to assess the efficacy of different water treatment processes in eliminating endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs). The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the contract set to run from 20th July 2022 to 20th March 2024. A future notice regarding this tender will be communicated by 20th March 2024, and it encompasses delivery areas that include the United Kingdom and beyond, extending to locations such as the British Overseas Territories and Europe.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in research services, particularly those with expertise in water treatment processes and environmental analysis. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that specialise in chemical analysis, water quality assessment, or similar fields are well-suited to compete for this contract. Participation in this project could enable businesses to expand their portfolios, collaborate with governmental agencies, and contribute to critical environmental initiatives aimed at improving water safety and compliance with regulations regarding EDCs.

## Notice

Overview of Requirement The aim of this research project is to evaluate the efficacy of water treatment processes in the removal of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) bisphenol-A (BPA), 17-beta-estradiol (E2) and nonylphenol (NP), in addition to EDCs from the camphors, parabens and phthalate ester groups of chemicals (as highlighted in Annexe 1). The efficacy of treatment processes for EDCs will be achieved through sampling and analysis of raw and partially treated water. Additional information: Tender is accessible via Bravo
