The overall aim is to achieve as close as possible 100% total weed control. To achieve a cleaner more attractive borough, the council is tendering for a weed spraying service to treat specific areas of adopted highway across the borough to prevent the growth of weeds likely to interfere with the highway e.g. create a hazard, cause structural damage, affect drainage, cause a trip hazard or become unsightly. It is proposed that the contractor will deliver three applications of MAFF registered herbicide or other approved chemical as appropriate to Rochdale's adopted highways as specified above.
