## Summary

The procurement process for the Falmouth Marine School De-carbonising a marine vessel project has reached the award stage. Cornwall College e-Tendering is the buying organisation. The project falls under the "Ships and boats" industry category, with a contract value of £95,000. The procurement method used was an open procedure, with the tender period ending on December 28, 2022, and the contract period running from January 9 to March 31, 2023.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses in the marine equipment supply sector, especially those providing mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical equipment. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise organisations (VCSEs) are well-suited to compete. The project aims to support learners in developing skills related to marine electric and electronic installations, maintenance, and operation, aligning with the college's sustainability initiatives.

## Notice

Falmouth Marine School have successfully bid for strategic development funds to undertaken a "De-carbonising a marine vessel" project. The project will result in Falmouth Marine School owning a commercially available small vessel with a number of differing power installation options (diesel, electric, hybrid). In support of this project the college will develop a new classroom and workshop facility to support college learners to develop the skills required to move into a career within the marine electric/ electronic installation, operation, maintenance and diagnostics of the growing electrical and electronic systems within the marine sector in the support of de-carbonising vessels as a move to greater sustainability. Requirements: To supply a range of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electrical equipment as would be installed to a workboat, fast tender, support vessel, leisure vessel such that learners are able to undertake electrical and electronic installation, servicing and fault-finding tasks within a classroom environment. It is envisaged that some of the mechanical and electrical equipment (marine diesel engine, diesel driven generator, ancillary systems and pumps) will be sited remotely from the main classroom area such that the college can replicate an installation where machinery would be sited within an un-manned machinery space and controlled/ operated remotely much as would be found in a marine vessel environment; the machinery spaces being monitored through the use of audio-visual equipment.
