## Notice

Repair works to the roofs at Nuffield House at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. The existing felt roof covering on the Nuffield House roof has deteriorated and is allowing water ingress through the building fabric into the internal areas Specification External Works: - Supply & erect scaffold and/or edge protection as required for access - Installation of fixed edge protection to all roof areas, edge protection is to be left permanently after works are complete. - Unblock drainage channels/downpipes to allow for proper roof drainage - Strip off existing felt roof covering including bitumen layer down to concrete slab and clear roof area of debris and remove from site - Prepare existing roof area ensuring all substrate surfaces are clean and dry; and free from debris, projections and cavities - Apply primer to all details at the required coverage rate and allow to dry thoroughly - Supply & install layer of underlay/ VPC - Supply & install PIR insulation board to roof areas (150mm) to achieve a minimum U-value of 0.18W/(m2)K - Supply & install insulation fillets to provide a gradual transition at corner interfaces/upstands - Supply & install torch-on dispersion layer - Supply & install torch-on cap sheet (Black/Grey) - Ensure minimum of 5mm continuous bead of bitumen extrudes from all overlaps - Incorporate 150mm upstand to all perimeters, finishing with termination bar - There are multiple areas of boxing around service pipework, any existing roof covering over this boxing is to be removed and renewed with the same roofing material as the main roof above. A 150mm upstand may not be possible above areas of boxing. A site visit will be needed to confirm this. - Clear debris and remove scaffold - Works are to be covered by a minimum 20 year materials and workmanship guarantee Additional information: Register your company on the eSourcing portal (this is only required once) - Browse to the eSourcing Portal: and click the link to register - Accept the terms and conditions and click 'continue' - Enter your correct business and user details - Note the username you choose and click 'Save' when complete.
