## Summary

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has conducted a tender process titled "State of Care ICS Survey", involving research to enhance its understanding of Integrated Care Systems (ICS) in the UK. This procurement falls under the industry category of social research services and was carried out via the CQC Research and Evaluation Framework, specifically under Lot 6, focused on local health and social care systems. The procurement method employed was a selective process through a call-off from a framework agreement. The initial contract period is from 7th May 2025 to 31st March 2027, with a possible extension of up to 12 months. The total awarded value is £65,675, and the procurement was completed with the contract awarded to The Nuffield Trust, an SME, located at 59 New Cavendish Street, London.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the social research sector, particularly those specialising in healthcare systems and integration. Companies that excel in providing analytical insights and have a track record in policy influence can leverage this opportunity to demonstrate their expertise to a prestigious public sector client. SMEs with capabilities in delivering social research services within the UK are well-positioned to compete in similar procurement processes driven by entities like CQC, thereby bolstering their growth and presence in the public health research domain. The focus on systemic impact and policy influence may also provide further avenues for engagement and long-term collaboration.

## Notice

This is a Contract Award Notice The Care Quality Commission (CQC) requires research to deliver increased understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing ICSs to enable CQC to better use our independent voice to encourage improvement. In the context of considerable financial pressure and demand on services, we would like to understand how ICSs understand their ability to deliver improvements for people and communities and their perspectives on key barriers and enablers to progress. By publishing aggregated findings in our State of Care report (with associated commentary), we will seek to drive systemic impact and influence policy makers. This procurement was undertaken through the CQC Research and Evaluation Framework Lot 6 - Local health and social care systems, integration, and joined-up care, following the Further Competition process. The Contract is awarded for an initial period of 11 months with an option to extend for up to 12 months. Total Awarded Value is maximum of all charges including any optional contract extensions.
