## Summary

The procurement process involves the Coventry City Council, which has awarded a concession contract for the supply, maintenance, and operation of residential electric vehicle charging points in the City of Coventry. This project includes the installation of 80 charging units, comprising 75 slow chargers and 5 fast chargers. Key dates for the project include the installation of the initial 68 charge points by 31 March 2019, with commissioning to follow by 30 April 2019. The remaining 17 charge points will be installed following funding approval from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) after 1 April 2019. The contract is classified under services, specifically related to electric vehicles, and it follows an open procurement procedure.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in electric vehicle infrastructure and services, particularly those focused on installation, maintenance, and operational support of charging stations. Companies that are well-suited to compete include small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with experience in the electrical services sector and related technologies. With an initial funding contribution of £300,000 from OLEV and additional support from Coventry City Council, businesses can leverage this contract to establish long-term relationships within the market for sustainable transport solutions.

The initial requirement is being 75% funded (PS300k) by The Office for Low Emission Vehicles Residential On-Street chargepoints for plug in vehicles scheme. The remaining 25% will be funded (PS100k) by Coventry City Council. There is no requirement on the supplier to fund the cost of the chargepoints or any works required to prepare the locations for the chargepoints installation. The works shall be completed by the Council outside of the contract. The awarded supplier will be required to cover the cost of ongoing maintenance, repair, warranty management and provision of a back office function for the charging points installed.
