## Summary

Essex County Council is seeking to establish a framework for Day Opportunities Services aimed at supporting adults with disabilities and older individuals in the East of England. The procurement process, classified under Health and social work services, was officially awarded on 16 August 2018, with a total contract value of £90 million. The services are intended to help increase independence and confidence within the community while providing respite for unpaid carers. The contract commenced on 1 October 2018 and will continue until 30 September 2022. This open tender underscores the Council's commitment to integrating its “Good Lives Approach” into service provision, reflecting a shift toward building upon the strengths of individuals and their community support networks.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses focused on health and social care services, particularly those who can effectively deliver community-based support for vulnerable adults. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector entities are well-positioned to compete, as their local knowledge and tailored services can meet the Council’s strategic objectives. Companies capable of demonstrating their alignment with the Council's ethos of empowerment and community support will likely appeal strongly to the contracting authority, making this a viable opportunity for growth in the sector.

## Notice
