The Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Commission/ Independent Advisory Group will enable young people to influence decisions about policing and crime prevention in Wiltshire and Swindon in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner and Wiltshire. To support youth diversion, crime reduction and reduction in victimisation and vulnerability in young people, it is important to understand the drivers of crime and vulnerability in local communities as well as considering the determinants of crime. The public health approach to policing considers these factors and therefore it is important to listen and understand the impact crime has on young people within local communities.
