## Summary

The Ministry of Defence has concluded the award stage of a selective procurement process, titled "704399451-54 - MSS/142 MRO064_CAN", involving maritime maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. This procurement, categorised under the industry classification for repair and maintenance services of warships (CPV: 50640000), pertains to a Framework agreement serving the Royal Navy's operational needs. The overarching framework spans several global locations, including the UK, British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, and further afield. The awarded call-off contract, part of this larger framework valued up to £317 million, commenced on 6th May 2025 and is set to conclude on 23rd February 2026. Managed under the DSPCR 2011 regulations, the framework facilitates ongoing mini-competitions, such as for Evacuation and Survival items, with key decisions made on a competitive basis adhering to the Restricted procedure for contracts above threshold.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for business growth, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) given their stated suitability for the contract. Companies within the maritime services and defence sectors, particularly those experienced in large-scale repairs and logistical operations, will find this project well-suited to their capabilities. The potential for growth under this framework is considerable, not only due to its considerable financial scope but also due to the potential expansion or contraction of the Royal Naval Fleet during the contract's span, which may prompt additional service demands. The role of BAE Systems Surface Ships Limited as a supplier demonstrates the calibre and expertise regarded necessary for successful involvement in this contract.
