## Summary

The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) is seeking expert support for the UKBCEP Greenhouse Gas Inventory working group. This tender falls under the industry category of Research and Development Consultancy Services (CPV: 73200000). The procurement process has reached the award stage, with the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) selected as the supplier. This initiative, located across British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, Europe, Isle of Man, Rest of the World, and the United Kingdom, focuses on contributing to the UK's Greenhouse Gas Inventory. The contract starts on 13 March 2025 and ends on 31 March 2025, following a selective procurement method via a call-off from a framework agreement. The tender period ended on 6 March 2025, with a contract value of £7,914.24 GBP.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses specialising in environmental research and consultancy, particularly those focusing on greenhouse gas inventories and coastal wetlands. SMEs and VCSEs are encouraged to partake, as their expertise in ecological assessments and data analysis could significantly benefit the working group’s objectives. For businesses looking to expand within the environmental consultancy sector, collaborating with Cefas and UKCEH can lead to substantial growth and networking prospects within the industry. The project requirements include both in-person and online meeting engagements, making it ideal for entities with flexible operational capacities.

## Notice

The Greenhouse Gas Inventory Working Group was commissioned by the UKBCEP in 2024 to build on existing work to inform the UK's approach for considering inclusion of coastal wetlands in the UK GHG Inventory. The working group has been using the report 'Defining saltmarsh and the roadmap for its potential inclusion in the Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) Inventory', led by the UKCEH, to determine its workplan. The working group is chaired by Cefas and relies on the expertise brought to the group by its members. The group currently meets every 6 weeks with at least one in-person meeting each year. Cefas are looking to secure the time of experts from the UKCEH to attend and contribute towards working group meetings and activities throughout the year. This will include attendance at both online and in-person meetings, where feasible and input into workplan preparation as well as ad-hoc correspondence between meetings, where relevant.
