The aims of the service are: * To develop and maintain a breastfeeding support service that helps mothers to continue to breastfeed to at least 6-8 weeks. * To contribute to addressing health inequalities by offering targeted support for mothers least likely to continue breastfeeding, including those aged under 25 years. * To build community capacity and ability through the recruitment of breastfeeding support volunteers and staff. * To create a diverse mix of volunteers and staff, which may include those who have not recently breastfed. * To provide training, support and supervision to volunteers and staff.
