## Summary

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is currently concluding the procurement process for the contract titled "Accessible Communications," which falls under the services category, specifically related to business services such as law, consulting, and related fields. This contract, valued at £120,000, will be effective from 15 March 2021 until 14 March 2023, and addresses the organisation's accessible communication needs, particularly focusing on services for its Inspectorate and Engagement directorates in the United Kingdom. The procurement method employed was a selective approach, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement, with the tender period having ended on 18 December 2020.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in accessible communication services, including those providing easy read documents, Braille, British Sign Language video and audio, translation services, and interpretation services. Businesses capable of meeting the diverse range of accessible communication requirements outlined by the CQC could find substantial prospects for growth and collaboration within this framework, particularly to support the delivery of critical services aimed at improving accessibility in health and social care inspections.

## Notice

CQC requires a management company to deliver all our accessible communications requirements. The contract will be used mainly by our Inspectorate and Engagement directorates. The bulk of the work will come from the Editorial and Planning Team within the Engagement directorate, as they coordinate the requests for alternative formats, including easy reads, Braille, British Sign Language video and audio, as well as requests for interpreters on our inspections, and creation of translated documents.
