## Summary

The University of Birmingham is currently engaged in a public procurement process for its "Compute Solutions Revised" project, aimed at establishing a Framework Agreement primarily focused on IT services relating to servers and related peripherals. The procurement process is at the Tender stage, having a deadline that previously ended on 23rd September 2015. This framework agreement will not only cater to the IT Services department but may also extend to other departments within the University. The contract period is set to commence on 19th January 2016 and will last until 18th January 2021, covering the category of goods specifically under the classification of Servers.

This tender presents lucrative opportunities for businesses specialising in server solutions, particularly those with experience in Unix/Linux, Windows, VMware Servers, and converged infrastructure technologies. Companies that are manufacturers or resellers with demonstrated capabilities to meet the University’s requirements and provide comprehensive support services will be well-positioned to compete for this contract. The selective procurement method under a restricted procedure indicates that suitable candidates will be invited to submit detailed proposals, thereby creating a competitive landscape for innovative IT service providers.
