## Summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has completed the procurement process for the "Adaptive Data Ecosystems" project, which falls under the IT services industry category, specifically focusing on consulting, software development, and Internet support. This selective procurement method was executed through a call-off from a framework agreement. The procurement period saw the tender closing on 8th January 2021, with the contract subsequently beginning on 11th January 2021 and running until 30th May 2021. The overall value of the awarded contract is £1,391,025, with services expected to be delivered to a variety of international delivery addresses, including the UK and European territories.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in data governance, software development, and consulting services. Companies that possess extensive experience in structuring data governance frameworks, particularly those that have previously worked with large and complex organisations, would be particularly well-suited to compete for similar future contracts. Moreover, the focus on creating an Office of the Chief Data Officer suggests an ongoing need for expertise that aligns data governance with business objectives, encouraging SMEs to engage in such public procurements.

## Notice

The Adaptive Data Enablement team will bring experience of data governance within an enabling culture to support the establishment of the Office of the Chief Data Officer. As part of evolving our operating model, we wish to create the Office of the Chief Data Officer to take a strong leadership role in aligning data governance requirements to business objectives, and ensuring we develop processes that support business areas to get the job done whilst ensuring our responsibilities around the legal, ethical, secure and proportionate use of data are fully undertaken. The Adaptive Data Enablement Project will bring in a partner with data governance (data enablement) expertise in large and complex organisations to help DWP design and implement an Adaptive Data Enablement capability (operating model). The team will design and co-ordinate the implementation of the Adaptive Data Enablement, comprising but potentially not limited to the following functions, many of which are already operating across varying states of maturity:.
