The objectives are: 1) carry out a high-level, desk-based hydrological assessment of the project area in order to identify focus areas that are more likely to have been hydrologically modified; 2) Identify and map known and likely presence of peat across the project area; 3) Prepare detailed hydrological mapping and peat mapping for selected areas; 4) Identify priority areas and actions needed to restore more natural hydrological regimes, across landscapes including peatlands, heathlands other semi-natural habitats and watercourses; and 5) Develop detailed proposals for habitat restoration projects, based on the priority areas and actions identified above, to be delivered in year two of the project.
