This opportunity is currently in the planning stage, with an anticipated contract period commencing on 1st November 2018 and concluding on 31st October 2023. A market engagement event is scheduled for 19th February 2018, where interested providers can discuss service specifications and procurement intentions. Engaging in this procurement could significantly contribute to business growth in the health services sector, particularly for those with experience in similar service provisions. ## Notice This Future Opportunity Notice is published as part of NHS Medway CCG's re- procurement of DA NOUS market engagement process. The CCG are preparing to invite potential providers of non-obstetric ultrasound services to bid to provide these services across the geographic area covered by the CCG. The CCG are looking to develop a new service model. While this notice is for information only it also has the objective of generating interest in the market for the delivery of the service in future. The diagnostic test for direct access to non-obstetric ultrasound service is currently under AQP arrangements with approximately 18 providers awarded the AQP contract on a North Kent and West Kent basis in 2012/13. Less than 10 of the 18 AQP providers have been used in the Medway CCG area. Interim arrangements are now in place until 31 October 2018 to allow for a suitable tendering, mobilisation and service implementation schedule. The CCG will undertake a review of the existing provision and inform the market of its procurement intentions beyond the expiration of the existing contract arrangements. Also, the number of providers going forward is likely to be limited to what the CCG assess to be an economic and efficient number of providers without limiting patient choice. To support the CCGs review of the most appropriate service specification and contracting arrangements to be applied to the service, potential and existing providers are invited to attend a meeting to discuss current Arrangements, background and the procurement process .
