## Summary

The Luton Council is currently undertaking a tender process for the service titled "BT1316 Cash Collection." This procurement falls under the Treasury services category and is located in Luton, England. The tender is set to conclude on 27th August 2021, with the contract period expected to start on 2nd October 2021 and end on 3rd October 2021. The total estimated value of the contract is £10,200. The procurement method used is classified as "Other," and is currently at the Tender stage.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those engaged in financial services, cash handling, or logistics. Given the nature of the required services, companies that can efficiently manage the collection, banking, and reporting of bulk coin would be particularly well-suited to compete. The flexibility in collection frequency during the ongoing adjustments related to the pandemic may also favour smaller enterprises that can adapt quickly to changing requirements.

## Notice

The service provider will be expected to collect all bulk coin from the Councils parking team Located at the Town Hall in Luton on three occasions each week between the hours of 12noon and 2pm Monday to Friday. It is anticipated that the collections will take place on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday although due to the current covid pandemic the Council would like to be able to adjust the number of collections each week between one and three depending on the levels of bulk coin being collected from the machines. It would therefore be expected that the service provider would therefore adjust the amount is charges the Council for this service accordingly. Prior to the current pandemic the service was responsible for the collection of bulk coing in excess of PS1,000,000 per annum. However, during the last financial year for obvious reason the amount of coin collected has significantly reduced. Whilst it is anticipated that the amount collected will increase again over time the Council is not able to say at this point to what levels and over what period although we would expect that for at least the next year levels may not return to those seen pre pandemic. The service provider upon collecting the bulk coin from the Council will sign to confirm the number of money bags they have collected from the Council and the value of money that the Council has counted following which the service provider will be expected to carry out the following; o Collect from the Councils offices and take the bulk coin to an appropriate secure location o Open, re-count all the bulk coin to confirm the values collected and taken from the Council o Bank the bulk coin on behalf of the Council and or remit the value in line with the appropriate procedure agreed as part of this contract. o Provide to the Council all necessary reports and information in relation to the collection, banking and remittance of the bulk coin.
