## Summary

The Ministry of Defence has awarded a framework agreement for the Maritime Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) of Royal Navy platforms. The procurement process, titled "704399451-27 - MSS/142 MRO004-CAN," falls under the industry category of "Repair and maintenance services of warships" (CPV code: 50640000). This selective tender process followed a restricted procedure above the threshold and concluded on 8 November 2024. The resulting contract period spans from 9 December 2024 to 28 February 2025. The overall framework agreement runs until 31 March 2031, with a maximum value of £317 million. The awarded call-off contracts will provide services globally, including to locations such as the British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, Europe, Isle of Man, the Rest of the World, and the United Kingdom. This tender was managed from the Ministry of Defence's office in Bristol, England.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses, especially those in maritime maintenance and repair sectors, to participate in growing their service offerings and securing long-term contracts with the Ministry of Defence. SMEs and VCSEs are particularly encouraged as the framework agreement includes competitions via mini-competitions throughout its duration. The potential to engage in high-value, defence-related maintenance and inspection services on a global scale makes this framework an attractive prospect for well-suited companies looking to expand their footprint in defence procurement. Well-established large companies like Scott Aerospace and Basetek Limited, who have already been awarded contracts, illustrate the calibre of businesses that can benefit from this opportunity.
