## Summary

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is currently in the planning stage for a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the 'Light Gun Post Design Services.' This procurement process aims to explore market capabilities in relation to a future Light Gun project for Artillery Systems, specifically addressing supportability issues due to resource constraints. The engagement period is set to conclude on 5th July 2021, with the project classified under the 'Towed artillery' category (CPV 35322300). The procurement will take place across various locations, including the United Kingdom and British Overseas Territories.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly SMEs, to engage in government defence projects that require specialised design and engineering support. Companies with expertise in technical publication updates, configuration management, or safety monitoring are well-suited to respond to this RFI. Engaging in this early market consultation will not only allow businesses to showcase their capabilities but also to influence the potential future procurement process, thus expanding their market presence in the defence sector.

## Notice

The MOD is conducting Early Market Engagement for a future Light Gun project for Artillery Systems. Due to the demand on resource, competing priorities, and lack of capacity, the support provided by DE&S alone is no longer fit for purpose, and if it continues in this way the availability of the platform will be affected, as supportability becomes unsustainable. This project is in early concept and aims to cover the following: Core activity to include but not limited to - Provision for advice and assistance requests. - Maintenance of reference system, excluding LINAPS. - Quality assurance. - Obsolescence Management. - Safety monitoring and input to safety cases, SNvE and ENvE. - Legislation management, and assessment. - TLS. - Technical publication updates. - Disposal Plan. Non-Core (costed separate to core) - PDS tasking shall also be included to allow capability changes, and ad-hoc taskings. - Modifications design and embodiment. - Configuration management/legislation compliance This is a Request for Information to ascertain the Market Capability of meeting this potential requirement, as well as gaining an understanding of Costs.
