## Notice

2625/490/MY/AMRC/20 Bulk Additive Manufacturing System The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Bulk Additive Manufacturing System on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, North West Group at Preston, Lancashire. Scope of Requirement The BAMS will be used to manufacture prototype components, specifically large aerospace structures with high buy to fly ratios. The system will also support research with our partners into the use of the technology in industry in order to accelerate the adoption of bulk additive manufacturing. This will include but is not limited to process control, post process integration and materials development. The BAMS must be capable of processing aerospace materials, mainly titanium and aluminium alloys in a safe environment. The material must be deposited by means of gantry axes motion arm with a concurrent wire feed and heat source melting the material at a pre-programmed toolpath. The system must also have localised gas shielding to prevent oxidisation of titanium alloys.
