## Summary

The National Physical Laboratory is conducting a tender process titled "RFQ - DAQ system for FSI." This procurement falls under the category of laboratory, optical, and precision equipment, specifically aimed at improving data acquisition systems. The tender is currently in the active stage, with submissions closing on 28 January 2020. The delivery address for this contract is located in Teddington, London, United Kingdom. The procurement method is a limited competitive quotation, suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to participate.

This opportunity presents a chance for businesses specialising in the manufacturing of data acquisition technology to expand their market reach. Companies that can provide innovative and integrated DAQ systems capable of high-speed data transfer are well-positioned to compete. Engaging with the National Physical Laboratory not only allows for potential contract awards but also fosters partnerships in cutting-edge research and development initiatives in the field of precision measurement.

## Notice

The requirements set by NPL is for improving the data acquisition speed in a novel bench-top coordinate metrology system (CMS), which emulates GPS in operation. Currently the system relies on using a 10 MS/s 14-bit data acquisition (DAQ) system with serial connection to a PC. This setup is not adequate for the new implementation of the instrument, for which we need to acquire signals at a sampling rate up to ~160 MS/s, as well as transfer the acquired data to a PC/GPU device for data processing. We here enquire for a set of DAQ cards that can be integrated in our CMS. The set-up of the CMS consists of a central hub and 5 sensor heads distributed over a volume of 20 m x 20 m x 10 m. The central hub needs to acquire 4 signals, whereas the sensor heads need to acquire 2 signals each. A common clock and trigger signal are used to control the data acquisition on the central hub and sensor heads. Additional information: Please do not contact the person listed on this notice.
